Verse of the Day

Leonard Bernstein (Burn-Stine), renowned Conductor of the New York Philharmonic, was once asked "what is the hardest instrument to play in an orchestra". His immediate response was "Second Fiddle". Everyone wants to play lead...very few get excited about playing the instrument that provides the "Harmony", the Harmony that gives a song its real soul stirring beauty.

Isn’t it revealing that, someday when the church steps across that divine threshold of eternal bliss and into the presence of the King of Kings, of all the rapturous heavenly songs that will reverberate off mansion walls in the New Jerusalem and echo down streets of gold, not one is a solo?

Acts 1:26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

Matthias will always be remembered as "JUDAS'S REPLACEMENT", the Apostle whose name was drawn out of a hat. He became an Apostle by Default. He won, not because Jesus Hand picked him, but because Judas Failed. He was not the Lord's First Choice. In the Beauty Pageant of Apostleship he was crowned because the winner quit. In the Marathon of Apostolic Ministry He Got the Trophy, but he didn't win the race. He will always be the man who came in second place.

But Matthias learned the beauty of Harmony by playing second fiddle to the Lord's hand Picked Apostles. He is one of the Bible's most illustrious examples of faithful, noble, humble harmony. Matthias was the Apostle who restored Harmony to God’s Apostolic Ministry. Mathias was a Peacemaker.

PEACEMAKERS (Those who promote peace and propagate Harmony)

Mat 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Peacemakers are men, women and young people who have a deeper understanding of the ways of God. They are sensitive to God’s desire for His people to walk, talk, live and grow in Harmony. While He was teaching the Beatitudes, Jesus elevated “Peacemakers” above the highest rankings to which Christians can be promoted. He announced to the thousands gathered to hear Him teach that “Peacemakers” Shall be called “The Children of God”. Peacemakers promote peace and propagate the purest harmony.
