HE DIED FOR YOU
Luke 23:42 “And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
CRUCIFIXTION WAS A PUBLIC SPECTACLE…There were thousands of people that thronged the streets, each jostling against the other for a better view of the prisoners that were designated for crucifixion that day. The excruciating pain of the soldier’s whip, the crusty blood on his face, the torn muscles, the thorns that dug deeply into his scalp, the bloodthirsty mob that cried out “crucify him” all took their toll on his weakened flesh.
But, in the grip of the horror that only a death march up Golgotha could exact, and in the throes of suffering that only a Calvary could produce, Jesus Christ heard the humble request of ONE thief. Above the din and roar of the raucous crowd; above the screaming pain in his own body; above the cries of his own little mother begging Him to come down for her sake, above the crashing drops of his own blood spilling from his body and splashing onto the earth….Jesus heard the pleading voice of ONE thief.
When we’ve become too busy with life to hear the pleading voice of the ONE, REMEMBER JESUS, who in the agonizing throes of death was tuned out to everything else, and tuned in to the voice of ONE.
Jesus did not die for the masses. He died for “ONE.” He died for YOU!
