Where Are The Weepers?
Ezek 9:4 “And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.”
Quietly stealthily he floated, like a man-sized cloud of shimmering white. With writer's inkhorn gripped firmly in one hand and quill in the other, the angelic form hastened down empty cobblestone streets, and dark back alleyways. From one candlelit abode to the next he moved. In hushed strains of deathly silence, his heavenly mission was pursued with supernatural accuracy. He was in a hurry. He sought out only the worthy. He carried a special 'Mark' for special men.
Finally, his assignment completed, he slipped sadly back into the ethereal, his inkhorn, sorrowfully, still full.
He had been searching for 'Weepers,' men upon whom could be placed the 'Mark'! The 'Mark,' equivalent of the Hebrew 'Taw' or letter 'T.' Noteworthy isn't it, that this 'T' could so clearly symbolize Calvary's Cross? The angelic spy identified the 'Weepers,' with the Slain Lamb, Jesus Christ, whose tears over man's lost condition filled oceans and seas. The lost, Christ's reason for the Cross.
Where are the Weepers? They can be found in the caves and dens of solitary desert places, in lonely isolated prayer closets, in the throes of intercession, feeling after God, reaching for the lost, "Marked" by a Cross!
God's angelic agent will, at some point in time, make his clandestine journey to the temple of men and peer through the windows of the soul. May he observe the glimmer of free flowing tears in the candlelight of intercessory prayer, and make each of us "Marked Men," "Intercessors," "Weepers!"
